In this video, John demonstrates the correct way to install a Scotty 1023 Tilt-Up Mounting Bracket on a 1026 Pedestal Swivel Mount. This will allow you to tilt your downrigger vertically, and lock it in an upright position.

To follow along with the tutorial, you’ll need a Phillips-head screwdriver.

The necessary bolts are included in the 1026 packaging. If you’ve misplaced the original hardware, you’ll need four 1/4-20 bolts, 7/8″ in length.
